Thank you for considering Krafty Paws Dog Grooming for your pets needs.

Our priority is to ensure the health and safety of every pet that enters our establishment. We strive to provide positive experiences during the grooming process, and as such, refuse to cause undue stress, pain, or discomfort to an animal to appease factors of vanity.

Please take the time to read and understand the following policies and terms of service carefully as they are designed to ensure the best possible experience for you and your pet. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Pet Condition
Pets are accepted for grooming only if fit and healthy. Grooming that takes place on an elderly or infirm pet will be at the owner’s risk. Grooming may expose pre-existing health/skin conditions for which we cannot be held liable. To ensure the safety and comfort of each pet in our care and the safety of our staff, it is critical that you disclose at the time of booking, and continue to disclose on an ongoing basis, any and all medical, or other conditions, including concerns or behaviours, that may expose staff or other dogs in our care to injury or illness

Rabies vaccine is to be kept up to date (as required by law) unless otherwise discussed. It is strongly recommended that vaccinations against all infectious conditions be obtained at least 48 hours prior to a grooming appointment due to potential side effects of vaccination. We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue service at any time, for any reason, and only provide treatment we
deem as humane and in the best interest of every animal.

Parasites
Pets with parasites generally will not be permitted. Please take your pet to a veterinarian for appropriate treatment at least one week prior to the grooming appointment. If fleas are found during the grooming session, your pet will be given a flea bath at your expense ($25-$50 depending on the size and severity of the infestation). A flea bath will eliminate adult fleas on your pet, but will not prevent any future fleas or flea eggs from hatching once your pet leaves our premises. Clients who knowingly/repeatedly bring pets to our facility with fleas will be denied future services.

Responsibility to Disclose
Owners MUST inform Krafty Paws Dog Grooming if their pet(s) bites, has bitten, or is aggressive to people, other pets, or specific grooming procedures. Muzzles/cones may be used if necessary, and have a potential risk of use. We reserve the right to refuse/cease services for such pet(s) at any time before or during the grooming process and charge a handling fee for aggressive pets in addition to the full regular grooming charge.

Appointment Timing
While we strive to provide you with an estimated grooming time, unforeseen circumstances can cause delays. In such cases, we will promptly inform you of any changes to the schedule. The groomer will discuss potential timing with you during drop-off, and we will notify you when your pet is ready for pickup. To ensure a pleasant grooming experience for your pet, we take extra care with dogs that may be easily agitated, distressed, inform or elderly and provide them with breaks between grooming sessions. For pets that require extra care, or are very large, additional time may be required.

Cancellation / No Show
Last-minute cancellations (less than 24 hours notice) are subject to a 50% groom fee per pet which is required to be paid prior to booking your next appointment. It is considered a “no-show” when the client is not available at the scheduled appointment time and did not contact the groomer to cancel or reschedule. We reserve the right to charge 50% of the grooming fee due to the loss of revenue caused by a “no-show”. Please make every effort to call and cancel or reschedule when possible to avoid such situations. If a client has not arrived within 15 minutes of their scheduled appointment time, the appointment will be automatically cancelled.

Maintenance Schedule
Services are only provided to pets that are able to be on an appropriate maintenance schedule, as advised by your groomer, at a maximum 8-week schedule. This is to ensure the best possible outcome for a healthy and happy pet. Prices are based on regularly maintained pets and do not include additional time for additional services such as dematting, overdue, excessive shedding, behavioural, extra handling, etc.

Arriving for your appointment
For safety reasons, we require that all dogs be on a leash or in a carrier when entering the salon. If you forget to bring a leash, we are happy to provide one for you to borrow before getting your dog out of your car.

Please make sure your dog has done his or her business before coming in for their appointment.

For safety reasons, we kindly request that pet owners refrain from entering the grooming or bathing area under any circumstances. When pets see their owners while being groomed, they may become overly excited and put themselves or the groomer at risk of injury. Hence, we ask that owners not to wait inside or arrive before their scheduled pick-up time to avoid any such instances. Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring a safe and secure environment for everyone involved.

Safety and Medical
We assure that, as educated professionals in the animal care industry, we take precautions to ensure a safe, incident & stress-free grooming process. We impose strict policies and procedures for disinfection protocols, animal handling techniques, continuing education, equipment function/maintenance, client communication, behavior modification, and routine grooming interval schedules, as deemed necessary. These are executed to protect the health, safety & well-being of every animal in our care. Although precautions are taken, various medical, behavioral, and physical situations can arise. Grooming can expose hidden or un-diagnosed medical conditions and aggravate past conditions, creating a requirement for Veterinary treatment or intervention. A matted pet, a pet with behavioural issues, or a senior pet requiring multiple personnel for physical support, may become traumatized and even injured during grooming. Even with the greatest of care, problems such as but not limited to clipper burns, cuts, knicks, abrasions, stress, epidermal reactions, hickies, bleeding, aural hematomas, ocular abrasions, corneal ulcers, and cuts may occur due to uncooperative pet

Medical Emergency
In the event of an emergency with my pet, I understand every effort will be made to contact me at the phone number I provide each time I leave my pet for grooming. In the event that Krafty Paws Dog Grooming is unable to contact me, I grant legal permission to obtain Veterinary treatment as required. I agree to pay all costs involved in this treatment, and acknowledge that Krafty Paws Pet
Grooming will not be liable for any further monetary implications past, present, or future, that may arise with my pet.

Allergic Reaction
We will not be responsible for any allergic reactions resulting from the manufacturer’s recommended usage of any products. A dog may experience an allergic reaction to grooming products at any time.

Late Pick Up
Your pet must be picked up prior to closing time. Should you fail to do, there will be a late pick-up charge of an additional fee of $15 per 15 minutes, up to 30 minutes. If the pet is left 30 minutes after hours, this will result in an emergency boarding fee of $75 in addition to the grooming fee, and may not be able to pick the pet up your pet until the following business day.

Customer Satisfaction
It is advised to thoroughly look over your pet at pick up. It is at this time, any request for adjustments to your pet’s groom will be updated to your pet’s file for future appointments. Note: we do not offer refunds, however, every attempt will be made to ensure your satisfaction is met at your next appointment. We will not be responsible for any other concerns once you have left the premises, as we no longer have insight into the environment your pet may enter once no longer in our care.

Payment

All Services are to be paid in full upon pickup even if we were unable to finish your pets groom no matter the reason.
